Tour 16 days - Mali - Burkina Faso
Day1 : Arrival to Bamako Arrival to Bamako and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Hotel. Day2 : Bamako--Tombouctou Early transfer to airport and flight to Timbuktu. Arrival and visit the most celebrated classical city recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The architecture in mud is influenced by the Sudanese-style. The houses made of Moroccan rock and wooden door with iron reinforcement is a reminder of the city of Timbuktu (Tombouctou). The city of 333 Saints possesses three mosques. Break for lunch. Visit manuscript library at the Ahmed Baba Center, housing precious manuscripts from the 14th century. Free afternoon. Overnight in Hotel Colombe or Azalai.
Day3 : Tombouctou Breakfast and visit one of the celebrated private family libraries with lecture from one of the scholars. Break for lunch. Discover the Sahara, enjoy an adventurous afternoon camel ride in the desert dunes of Timbuktu with overnight stay at a Tuareg Camp.
Day4 : Timbuktu---Mopti Early breakfast back to the city of Timbuktu. Depart to Mopti by 4x4. Discover the semi-desert scenery in arrival at Mopti. The city is mostly inhabited by the Fulani people, also will have an opportunity to mingle with the Boozo tribe, the boat dwellers. Overnight in Mopti.
Day5 : Mopti---Dogon Country—Mopti Breakfast, early drive to Mali's fascinating Dogon country; visit Songo village, renowned for its circumcision grotto with rock paintings, continue to Sangha; walking tour of Sangha, and the afternoon, return to Mopti.
Day6 : Mopti---Djenné Breakfast and drive by Bus to Djenné, Arrival and lunch and city Tour to Djenné. We will see the big mosque built in 1906 in Soudanian style very special in Djenné, the grave of the young girl TAPAMA, burried alive to allowed the population of Djenné to settle in this area in the 9th century. We will see the Women association who make the mud cloth with different figures which symbolise the daily ocupation of different ethnie groups. Dinner and overnight in the campment. Day7 : Djenné—Ségou---Bamako Breakfast and departure to Bamako, lunch in Ségou, the ancient capital of the Bambara Dynasty. In the afternoon, arrival in Bamako. Dinner at a restaurant or be a guest at one of the local people home. Day8 : Bamako---Departure Breakfast in the AM. We will have an opportunity to tour the city of Bamako and explore the market places of Mali capital city. Go to shopping at the Grande Marché (Big Market). Museum visit and then preparations for departure to Europe.

Day1 : Arrival Bamako arrival to Bamako and pick up to the airport and transfer to Mandé Hotel *** or Plazza Hotel****. Overnight to the hotel.
Day2: Bamako—Segou
Day3 :Segou—Djenné Breakfast and departure to Djenné, on the road visit of San to see a long time the best mudcloth makers almost in each families, lunch in San and continuation to Djenné, arrival and overnight to Hotel Campment.
Day4 Djenné Today is the market days of this town, we will see many people arriving from neighboring villages for the market. We will see the big mosque built in 1906 in Soudanian style very special in Djenné, the grave of the young girl TAPAMA, burried alive to allowed the population of Djenné to settle in this area in the 9th century. We will see the Women association who make the mud cloth with different figures which symbolise the daily ocupation of different ethnie groups. Dinner and overnight in the campment.
Day5 : Djenné Breakfast and visit to the villages of Sirimou and Senousa, the fulany and Bozo villages. Visit of Djenné Djeno, the ancient city of Djenné from the 4th century where we can see the archeologic areas. We will visit the culturel center. We will meet the architect man who will explain to us the different stylies of houses in Djenné and possibly local weavers. Dinner and overnight in the campment.
Day6: Djenné – SanghaBreakfast and Drive to Mali's fascinating Dogon country; visit Songo village, renowned for its circumcision grotto with rock paintings; continue to Sangha; walking tour of Sangha, comprised of 10 distinct animist and Islamic villages; overnight in Sangha in Campment hotel.
Day7: Dogon countryBreakfast Visit by 4x4 Dogon villages along the Bandiagara escarpment ( Banani, Ireli, Amani and Tireli) including traditional weavers and dyers of indigo cloth and mudcloth, the Dogon man's standard attire, mask dance in Tireli; overnight in Sangha
Day8:Dogon countryBreakfast Visit by 4x4 Dogon villages along the Bandiagara escarpment, visit of villages as Nombory, Yabatalu, Endé, Telli, Kani Kombolé. We will appreciate traditional weavers and dyers of indigo cloth and mudcloth in these villages. Overnight in Bandiagara to Cheval Blanc hotel**. Day9 :Dogon country - Sevare - MoptiBreakfast Drive by Bus to Sevare, to visit Farafina Tigne, site of an African trade bead museum; and drive to Mopti, Full day in Mopti, city tour, we will see the old town with its Komoguel Mosque, the market, the harbour crowded with pirogues, full of dry and smoked fish bring by Bozo Fishermen, building pirogue ( pinasse). Lunch in the Bozo Restaurant. Overnight in Kanaga Hotel***.
Day 10: Mopti--SegouBreakfast and departure to Segou, arrival and city tour, visit of Gneleny women association center who make wool carpets, visit of the bambara ancient quarter to see local beer. Visit of french colonizers houses along the river. Overnight in Auberge Hotel** or Independance hotel**.Day11 : Segou-Kalabougou-BamakoBreakfast and departure to Kalabougou by pinasse to see the poteries village: Kalabougou and return to Segou for lunch, then departure to Bamako, visit on the road the old village Segoukoro where the first Bambara King is burried. Day4 : Mopti—Dogon Country Breakfast, morning visit in Mopti, city tour, we will see the old town with its Komoguel Mosque, the market, the harbour crowded with pirogues, full of dry and smoked fish bring by Bozo Fishermen, building pirogue ( pinasse). Lunch and then departure to Dogon Country, arrival and visit of Sangha village’s : hight Ogol and short Ogol. Overnight in hotel Campement Guinna.
Day5 : Dogon Country Breakfast, day of trekking in Dogon villages along the Bandiagara escarpment ( Banani, Ireli, Amani and Tireli), you will see the Dogon architecture like the justice palace and mask dance in the afternoon in Sangha . Overnight in Hotel Campment Guina.
Day6 : Dogon Country—Mopti Breakfast and Drive to Mopti, the malian « Venise » visit of Songo village, renowned for its circumcision grotto with rock paintings; continue to Mopti; Arrival, lunch in Bar Bozo Restaurant near the niger river. Overnight in Kanaga Hotel***

Day8 : Mopti—Konan--Niger River Breakfast and departure to Konan by Bus where the private boat will wait you to make the navigation to Timbuktu . Whole day long in navigation.Visits of some neighborings villages near the River. Lunch in the Boat and dinner in camping near the niger. Overnight in IGLOO TENT.
Day9 : Niger River---Timbuktu Breakfast and continuation to Timbuktu, whole day navigation, arrival in the afternoon transfer and overnight in Timbuktu. Lunch and dinner. Overnight in Igloo Tent.
Day10 :TimbuktuBreakfast, navigation to Timbuktu, arrival in the morning about 10 AM and transfer from harbourg to town center. Full day visit in Timbuktu : the Djingareber mosque, the Ahmed Baba Center’s where are stocked more than five thousand manuscrits of the 12th century , The handycraft market with Touareg making shoes hand bags in camel skins . Lunch in the hotel.In the afternoon, camel riding and Tuareg Dance. Dinner and onvernight in the Colombe Hotel**.
Day11 : Timbuktu---MoptiBreakfast and departure to Mopti by Land Cruiser 4x4 ( 4 vehicles). Arrival in Mopti and installation to Kanaga Hotel.

Day1 : Arrival in Bamako Arrival by schedled flight in Bamako, welcoming to the airport , transfert to Hotel Mandé, dinner and overnight in Bamako
Day2 : Bamako—Djenne Breakfast and departure for Djenné , settling in the Djenné Campment. Dinner and overnight.
Day3 : Djenne—Mopti Breakfast , town visit , archological sites . We wil see the biggest mosque in the world built in 1906 with mud , the daily market, the young girl grave, the common quarters. And departure to Mopti and the afternoon come back to Mopti , Mopti the " Malian Venise " on the road to visiting the market, the mosque built in 1806 at the end the visit , settling at the Kanaga hotel.
Day4 : Mopti—Sangha : Breakfast and visit of the town . We can see the fishing harbourg, the craftmen’s market, the Bozo encapments, . After departure to Sangha the Dogon Country, arrival in setlting at the Sangha campment. Visit of Sangha . Overnight in Sangha.
Day5 : Dogon Country Breakfast and starting the trekking of the cliffs of Bandiagara. We will see the dogons villages as Banani, Ireli, Pegue, Bongo. Overnight in the campment.
Day6 : Dogon Country Breakfast and trekking in the Bandiagara cliffs. Visits . The Dogons settled in this place in the 15th century in order to flee the razzia and differend tribal was of theirs neighbours . Nowadays they have remaind reserved . It was for them, a way to avoid new invasions which might disturb their culture and way of the life. Overnight in Sangha.
Day7 : Dogon Country—Mopti Breakfast and departure to Mopti, visit of Songo and continuation to Mopti.
Day8 : Mopti—Timbuktu by pinase Breakfast and departure to Timbuktu by pinasse . Whole day long in avigation . Visits of fisher's villages . Overnight in tente near the niger river.
Day9 : Niger River Breakfast and departure again to Timbuktu , an other day of navigation whole day long . Overnight in tente near the river.
Day10 : Niger River –Timbuktu Breakfast and departure to Timumktu and arrival in the afternoon . Overnight in Timbuktu in Azali Hotl or Bouctou.
Day11 : Timbuktu Breakfast and visits of the town of Timbuktu, the public square , the Djingareberg and Sankoré Mosques, the Tuareg encampments, the Ahmed Baba center, sightseeing on camel back in the afternoon. Overninght in the hotel.
Day12 : Timbuktu –Mopti Breafast and departure to the airport , flight to Mopti. Arrival and settling at the Kanaga Hotel and overnight in Kanaga.
Day13 : Mopti—Segou Breakfast and departure to Segou , visit of San ( the market and the mosque) on the road and continuation to Segou.Arrival and checking in the Auberge Hotel . Overnight in the hotel .
Day14 : Segou—Bamako--Europe Breakfast and visit of Segou town, tapestries, local breweries , the market , the fishing smack tour to discover impressive african sunsets and departure to Bamako. Arrival and checking in the hotel.

Day6:Tombouctou--Mopti Early in the morning , departure to Mopti - Settling at the Kanaga Hotel -Lunch - Visit of the" Malian Venice" - Tour in fishing -smack on the River Niger in the afternoon during which you will get in touch with the daily activities of the people, all ending with a beautiful sunset
Day7 :Mopti—Djenné—Dogon Land Complete day for Djénné tour, a very long day during which you will be discovering the beautiful town of Djénné - Its Big market - Its impressive and attractive mosque, built with mud - Coranic schools or Medersas - Traditional architecture with the Soudanese style - Continuation to the Dogonland in the afternoon - Arrival in Djénné and settling at the encampment.
Day8:Dogon Land Early in the morning we shall go on foot to discover the Dogon villages along the cliffs and the plains where paths come down straight from the cliffs; you will then take the necessary time to go up and come down from these cliffs . The Dogons arrived in this area around the 15th century to flee razzias and tribal wars and mainly to escape islamisation.
Day9: DOGON Land Breakfast and trekking in the Bandiagara cliffs. Visits . Day10: Dogon Land---Mopti Before going back to Mopti, you will go through some villages . It is not a busy place and consequently the roads are sometimes impraticable during the rainy season - In such conditions you will, often ,need to go down in some places and push your cars - Dinner and overnight at the Kanaga Hotel.
Day11: Mopti—San—Bobo Dioulasso After breakfast, you will go for Bobo -Dioulasso . A very long way because of the many controls at the border of the two countries - a lot of patience and humour - Then you will reach the Honest Men's land precisely Bobo - Dioulasso the second town of the country - Settling at the Auberge Hotel and overnight.
Day12: Bobo Dioulasso. Breakfast and visit of the villages as Koro, KOUMI, the sacred fish and overnight in LIBANESE Hotel.
Day13: Bobo---Banfora Breakfast and departure to BANFORA, arrival and settling at the " Sugar Cane Hotel"- visit of the people senoufo near the Tangrela Lake, the Mount of Sindou .Dinner and overnight in Banfora.
Day 14:Banfora—Gaoua ( Lobi Land) Breakfast and visit of: the town of Bobo on foot - the central market -the provincial museum of Poni - the train station -the large avenues with accacia trees aside in a colonial style - music workshops - continuation to Gaoua in the Lobiland - Dinner and overnight at the Hallah Hotel
Day15: Gaoua—Ouagadougou Breakfast and departure to Ouagadougou, the capital of the Burkina faso, we will see the agriculture villages in the forest around the road. We will the crocodilles in the lake in Sabou and then continuation to Ouagadougou.Arrival in Ouagadougou, dinner and overnight.
Day16: Ouaga--Departure Transfert to the airport for the departure.
